Augmentation of Greater Diphu Water Supply Scheme under NLCPR.
Augmentationof Greater Diphu Water Supply Scheme was sanctioned in the yesr 2008-09 under NLCPR programme funded by DoNER, GoI with proportionate matching share of state government in the ratio of 90:10 respectively. The scheme was designed to cover a population of 1,34,425 persons by the end of design period. Around 70,235 persons are being benifitted by the scheme till now. Although entire scheme could not be completed till now, a part of the scheme could be made functional as on date.
Government of India released 1st. installment during 2008-09 amounting Rs. 854.64 Lakhs and State Govt. released entire matching share amounting Rs. 276.7472 Lakhs in 3 installments till date. One of the reasons for delay in physical progress is due to non receipt of 2nd installment of central share amounting to Rs. 1636.05 Lakhs. It may be mentioned here that all UCs and supporting documents has already been submitted to the appropriate authorities. Physical progress of the scheme is around 66.98% till date and it is expected that the scheme could be completed within 6 to 9 months as soon as the balance central share is received.
