Brief Summary and Salient Features of DDUGJY
> Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) is designed to provide continuous power supply to the entire rural India.
>The scheme was launched under leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in November 2014.
>Target to electrify 18,452 unelectrified villages within 1000 days, by May 1, 2018.
>The DDUGJY can benefit rural households significantly as electricity is extremely vital for growth and development of the country.
>The scheme will replace the existing RGGVY but features of RGGVY have been subsumed in the new scheme of DDUGJY and the unspent amount of RGGVY will be carried forward to DDUGJY.
>The scheme is one of the flagship programmes of the Power Ministry (MoP) and will facilitate 24x7 supply of electricity.
>Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) will be the nodal agency for implementation of the scheme.
>Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is the implementing agency of the scheme in Assam.

Brief Summary of SAUBHAGYA
>Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – ‘Saubhagya’ a new scheme was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 25th September 2017.
>Under Saubhagya free electricity connections to all households (both APL and poor families) in rural areas and poor families in urban areas will be provided.
>There are around 4 Crore un-electrified households in the country and they are targeted for providing electricity connections by December 2018.
>Under the Saubhagya scheme, DISCOMs will also organize camps in villages/cluster of villages to facilitate on-the-spot filling up of application forms including release of electricity connections to households.
>DISCOMs/Power Department will also adopt innovative mechanism through dedicated web-portal/Mobile App for collection/consolidation of application form in electronic mode and also capturing process of release of electricity connections.
>The details of consumers’ viz., Name and Aadhar number/Mobile number/Bank account/Driving License/Voter ID etc., as available would be collected by the DISCOMs.
>Under this Scheme Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) based standalone Solar system for un- electrified households located in remote and inaccessible villages/habitations, where grid extension is not feasible or cost-effective are to be provided.
>The prospective beneficiary households for free electricity connections under the scheme would be identified as per census of India 2011 data.

INTEGRATED POWER DEVELOPMENT SCHEME (IPDS)
>The Scheme was launched by the Ministry of Power, Government of India on 3rd December’14.
>The scheme was introduced to strengthen the sub-transmission and distribution networks in the urban areas.
>The scheme covers construction & renovation of 33/11 KV Sub-Stations, HT-LT lines reconductoring, strengthening, capacity enhancement of power and distribution transformers and replcement of meters etc.
>The project covers 6 nos of towns under Karbi Anglong district namely; 1. Diphu 2. Bokajan 3. Howragaht 4. Dokmoka 5. Donkamokam and 6. Hamren.
>Centrally 2 nos contractors has been engaged for execution of the work on full turnkey basis.
M/s N.K. Power & Infrastructue Pvt Ltd and M/s Mega Electricals , Guwahati
>The project will be completed within 24.04.2019 as targeted.
In addtion to this APDCL is also taking up the follwing works sponsored by Govt of Assam.
>Bamboo/Wooden poles replacement by PSC/Steel Tubular poles is under progress.
>Tea Garden labour quarters under 100% electrification scheme is under progress
>Damaged distribution transformers are being replaced as and when required.
