  PRADHAN MANTRI MATRU VANDANA YOJONA (PMMVY)

     Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, previously known as the Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana, is a maternity benefit program run by the government of India. It was originally launched in 2010. From 01.01.2017, this Maternity Benefit Programme is implementing in all the districts of the country in accordance with the provision of the National Food Security Act, 2013.

    The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Under PMMVY, a cash incentive of ₹ 5000/- provides directly in the account of Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) for first living child of the family subject to their fulfilling specific conditions relating to Maternal and Child Health. Conditionalities and Instalments are as follows –

    PMMVY is implementing through a centrally deployed Web Based MIS Software application (PMMVY.CAS.IN) and the focal point of implementation would be the Anganwadi Centre (AWC).
